This course is designed to provide a basic overview of captioning, including the characteristics of effective captioners, offline captioning, dictionary management, script file preparation and more.

> The course begins with a personalized writing skills evaluation of your current shorthand realtime writing skills. The evaluation is provided by the author's evaluation team.

You then progress through modules designed to provide an understanding of the functions and obligations of the broadcast captioner, the captioning industry, and the ON-AIR environment.
