Evaluations:
One 30-minute personalized writing skills evaluation

Using the personalized writing skills evaluation report completed in Captioning I, you will receive a personalized recommended course of writing skills improvement lessons, drawn from the 30 lessons described to the right. Each lesson focuses on building a different writing skill necessary for effective captioning. Lesson topics correspond to the recommendations of the National Captioning Institute's "Realtime Writing" publication.

Each lesson requires approximately 60-90 minutes of study and practice for the average user. When you have completed your assigned lessons, your second 30-minute personalized writing skills evaluation by the author's team will occur. This evaluation will tell you how you have progressed against your objectives and prepare you for Captioning III.

Even though you may not be assigned all 30 lessons as requirements, you may complete as many study and test assignments as you wish for CEUs. You can earn up to 3.0 total CEUs for this course if you complete all the lesson units. Also, you may download each of the lesson guides to create your own Captioner's Writing Skills Guide to keep after you finish.
