Demonstrate realtime shorthand writing performance of 225 wpm or higher with 95% or greater accuracy.

Completion of Captioning I (or author’s written waiver of this requirement)

In Captioning III, you have the opportunity to take the skills you learned in Captioning I & II and gradually build the writing expertise and stamina necessary to caption an entire broadcast. The course includes two 30-minute personalized writing skills evaluations written from unrehearsed streaming media and over 100 recorded broadcast practice segments covering news, weather, and sports of different lengths and levels of difficulty. Specialized vocabulary supplements for your ON-AIR dictionary are available as downloads and online flash cards.

You may also purchase an optional Enounce™ variable speed player software license from Stenograph or Enounce. This license allows you to vary the speed of your practice materials up or down from recorded levels.
